Empty Barrels: By Divya Kukreja

A few years ago, I got into a debate lame enough on facebook. I won’t enter into what we basically conflicted about. But, pretty enough she fed me a beautiful logic of an empty cup. I’m still trying to dig in my facebook messanger to look for her exact words that acted as a muse on picking this blog name which I cleverly changed into “Empty barrels”. Looking back at the time, I was 21 when I decided to create my own blog, signed up on wordpress. I’m not sure if I started right over to put my thinking into a blog. I’d say there’s another girl who  mused  me into leading me to writing, which is when I started to read hers. Her words would just flow right, I got fascinated by the diction and most of all, her life. Yes, I’d stalk her on facebook and instagram. Totally sucking my habit! It just looked perfect to me the places she would travel, or the way she’d dress up to how she got hitched to a musician! Isn’t it wonderful to marry a musician, especially when your day starts with music and your mood can perfectly dance to the rhythm of music? I’d totally fancy wedding a guy who’d sing and play well to me, not to forget having a pretty face. 

Going back to the story of “empty cup” changing into “empty barrels” it turns out that written message is lost somewhere under verification threats of the user.However, the essence is still not lost. I can take an empty cup and create it into a flower jar, or fill it with the extra cents. Isn’t life also like it?             (edited Monday, 20 April, 2020, Istanbul, Turkey)

An Empty barrel, empty that it is can be stocked up with things full of our needs and interests, so is the use of this blog.

I decided to compile all my writings from giving words to the chunk of emotions that I feel inside, to writing verses,to entering into the world full of characters that whirl around my brain ,to the music that plays into words constructing rhymes and eulogies all put up at one place stocking up together speaking up for themselves.

             Empty Barrels is a kaleidoscope of my swirling emotions and thoughts.

So, may be some years hence running down the stream when my face will have wrinkles, my hands will shiver and my eye power would have reduced.  Reclining in my lounge chair, thinking of the bizarre moments ,sipping a cup of coffee , may like to turn the pages of my life events when I was young and relive the emotions I am living in my present.
